This was the start of a lifelong multigenerational love affair with Muskoka.

Both Jean and “Doug” are at rest at St Thomas Anglican Church Cemetary in Bracebridge, Ontario, Canada.

One of Jean’s most memorable music moments was her annual rendition of “Oh Holy Night” at the Christmas Eve Service at The Church OF The Good Shepherd, where she was the music and choir director. She performed this for over 30 years. This recording was made months before her passing while she was undergoing Cancer Treatment.
Jean performed two solos each year at her local church, one at Christmas and the other at Easter. Her rendition of ” The Lord’s Prayer” was widely received each year and set the tone for this important day in the church.

Jean was born in Toronto Ontario Canada May 21 1925.  She was 1 of 5 children. Her siblings included brothers Gilbert, Wallace, Robert and Irene.

Jean graduated with honours receiving the gold medal for her achievements. Her specialty was Solo Soprano voice which she turned into a career. She went on to  teach music , Piano, Voice and dance in Toronto.

Music Teacher

Jean inspire and educated well over 1000 students to make music, some went on to become Music teachers, play music professionally and to love to play music.

Church Organist and Choir Director

Church of the Good Shephard Weston Ontario

Jean was asked to take on the responsibilities of Organist and Choir director at the church where she was raised. She remained in this role for over 35 years until her passing in 1989.
